Jenny and Matt | The Wedding

Welcome to the day of Jenny and Matt.

We met up before the day to look around venues together and chat. As we drove around they pointed out that the best man lived here, the lady helping with the cake lived there, family lived just over that hill and you got a sense of couple really rooted in their community. The atmosphere on the day told the same story, with the hubbub of guests having a grand old time, family wedding photos on the cake table, and the pie and pea supper being provided by the same lady who catered for Matt's childhood barn dances and other such events. The pie and pea supper was also one of the Great Pie and Peas Up raising money for St Luke's Hospice, which was a lovely addition to the wedding breakfast (you can read more here).

So on to a few photographic highlights.

Kay and Chris | The Wedding

Casting my attention back to the end of March, back when the snow started making its reappearance, and Kay and Chris were getting ready for their wedding in Allerton Castle. This was quite a venue dripping with gilt and wood panels and grand staircases.

A few of my favourite things:
Kay designed her own dress with the help of a dressmaker, I was seriously impressed and she looked absolutely stunning.

The fresh woodlandy decorations were gorgeously put together and helped us all connect with what the season could be up to if only it would stop snowing.

The Beatles tribute band for the evenings celebrations: A great choice to reflect Chris's sensibilities. It made me realise for the first time how good their music sounds live.
