Kate and Bob | Wedding

Oh my. This wedding - the wedding of my chums Kate and Bob who recently moved to Somerset. Kate is a lover of all things woodlandy - badgers in particular - so it made total sense that her wedding would take place outside with a view of Somerset, in lovely warm sunshine, to the sound of bleating lambs and buzzing bees. The setting of Quarme Cottages was just gorgeous.

The boys got ready up the road in the "Rest and Be Thankful Inn" which is where Bob gave out the pocket watches engraved with the groomsmen's names. Down the road the girls got ready in the cottages that are part of the venue while guests congregated in the ceremony area. Usually you can't legally get married outside in England, but the bandstand is licensed as a building so as long as the vows are said under it, you're fine (and they were, so it was).

Kate and her mum put so much effort and attention to detail into the marquee. Kate's vision for what she wanted came off perfectly, transforming the space into a woodland haven with ivy, moss, ferns, badgers, home-made jam and badgers. Kate's mum Sue made the cake - honestly the most impressive cake I have ever seen. Kate's spec was "more is more" and -- well -- just wow.

The evening saw Bob masks make an appearance (and the badger head that I snaffled from another Badger Loving Friend) and much jollification filled the dance floor.

Oh it was a good day. I was so pleased I was able to celebrate with these two plus all their chums and kinfolk. Yay!
